what you’ll learn
The week is dedicated to rehearsing, polishing and performing a sixty minute show. You’ll learn all about what goes into staging a production and have the opportunity to lean into specific skills. Students with main roles have the opportunity to work with our acting and singing mentors while Ensemble performers take on dance workshops, and spend their downtime crafting and creating sets, props and costumes.
the week structure
- Rehearsals are held Monday – Friday from 9am – 3.30pm.
- Extended care is available from 8am – 9am Monday to Friday
- Extended care is available from 3.30pm – 5pm Monday to Thursday
- There are two shows on Friday afternoon 3pm & 4pm.

Dreamers Drama team members are teachers at heart. They embrace one of our key studio values of “excellence with joy” that is to say that technique, quality and skills are important to us, but only if our students are happy, regulated and thriving. Dreamers teachers are working professionals with high expectations of our students. Teachers understand that performing arts skills develop only when students feel safe and supported.
audition process
Auditions for main roles are held on day one of the workshop. We send out an audition pack the Friday before. If you would like to audition, pick any monologue and be ready to perform it in front of the group. The word “audition” can sound scary but it’s not really! Teachers are looking for performers who are trying their best and who can take direction.
who this holiday workshop for?
The born to perform holiday workshop program is a great for current dreamers looking to expand their skills, as well as students who can’t fit in drama into their regular week who come along in the holidays. Recommended age groups vary throughout the year, as follows:
January Junior Production (second last week of the holidays) (grade 3 – 7)
January Senior Production (last week of the holidays) (grade 7+)
June Roald Dahl Production (second week of the holidays) (grade 3 – 7)
September Production (grade 3 – 9)

ensemble workshop series
Whether you’re looking to build confidence, sharpen your performance skills, or just try something new, these sessions are designed to spark creativity and connection. Keep an eye out because spots fill quickly, and you won’t want to miss the energy in the room.
These are great for currently enrolled students looking to expand their skills, as well as students who are new to dreamers as an opportunity to meet the teachers and see if dreamers is a good fit.

Dreamers is a place where I feel free to express myself and release tension from the week. Normal conversations are pretty much non existent!

Dreamers is a place where you can be you because everyone else is weirder than you are. If you’re a drama kid we won’t judge you.
Chill Out
Dreamers is fun, it’s a really good place to explore your imagination. When school work and assignments feel overwhelming it’s great to come to Dreamers to chill out for a while.
